The S58 is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six, generating thick torque from low revs. The factory exhaust, though, deliberately suppresses sound pressure with an OPF and silencers. Accelerate and nothing follows. That first sense of something missing in a G80, G81, G82, G83 or G87 comes from the exhaust, not the engine.

The TODOROKI™ REAR replaces only the rear section (rear silencer + tip)The Entry-level TODOROKI™ Grade. With an electronically controlled valve fitted, it is as quiet as factory when closed and comes alive when open. It changes both the note and the view from behind for a smaller outlay than a full system.

To avoid any misunderstanding, we'll say this upfront.

• What changes: the rear silencer and tips are replaced. The factory silencer's internal damping goes, and an electronically controlled valve lets you switch the volume. Seven tip designs are available, so the rear of the car changes with it
• What Doesn't Change:The mid-pipe stays factory. The factory mid-pipe carries a resonator, so that stage of silencing remains in play. Compared with a full cat-back replacement, the swing in volume and character is narrower
• So, Who It's For: you want the note to change, you want to keep the factory composure, and you want a valved system without the full outlay. If all three apply, this is the configuration for you
• If it starts to feel like it's not enough,: plenty of owners move up to VALVE S or VALVE RS later. Using REAR to establish the direction you want, then stepping up to a full system, is a perfectly sound route

• Replacement of the Factory Silencer: the factory rear silencer runs a complex set of internal chambers that take a great deal out of the sound pressure. Replacing it is the way to change the note with the fewest parts
• Electronically controlled valve: switches the exhaust path inside the silencer. Closed, gas takes the damped route; open, it takes the straight path — so volume and character change together. Switch whenever you like from the remote
• Uses the factory hanger position: A bolt-on design that requires no modification to the vehicle. As the work only involves the mid-pipe and beyond,Installation takes less work compared with a full system

Fitment accuracy on an exhaust is settled by the actual car, not by a drawing. The TODOROKI™ system for the G80, G81, G82, G83 and G87 is Designed from 3D scan data of an actual car's underbody. We've measured actual clearance between the factory hanger positions and the rear bumper opening, so it installs without any modification to the car.

The connection to the mid-pipe also matches the factory shape. On a rear-section swap that keeps the factory mid-pipe, the accuracy of that joint is the difference between a sealed system and a leaking one. Welding is full high-temperature TIG throughout.

TODOROKI™ is made to order, one car's worth at a time, in partnership with our production facility. Fabrication begins once your order is confirmed, and BIMMER+ selects and inspects every specification before dispatch.

Removing and fitting an exhaust requires specialist tools and a lift. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified workshop or specialist. Wiring for the valve controller is also involved, so if you are not confident about fitting it yourself, please use a professional.

On cars with a factory valve, removing it may trigger a warning light. If that happens, a canceller or similar solution will be required.

As these are built to order, shipping after order confirmation typically takes2–4 weeks. Customisation, production and logistics can push this beyond the stated period. If you are working to a deadline, talk to us before ordering.
