Product Overview

The N55 in the 335i, the B58 in the 340i. Both are 3.0-litre single-turbo straight-sixes, and both are a different proposition from the 2.0-litre four from the ground up. They make thick torque from low revs and spin cleanly to the top. The factory exhaust, though, is designed to deliberately suppress sound pressure through its silencers.even though it's running a straight-six, you can't tell from the sound. This is the source of the first disappointment most owners notice on the 335i / 340i.

TODOROKI™ VALVE RS is a cat-back system that replaces everything after the catalytic converter. A straight-through mid-pipe routes gas by the shortest path, and an electronically controlled valve switches the volume.Choose the outlet configuration from twin-exit or quad-exit. With the valve closed, it's as quiet as factory; open, it restores the straight-six's natural top-end pull and sound pressure.

You can choose the number of tips

The factory setup on the 335i / 340i is a twin-exit layout, one per side. With TODOROKI™,In addition to the factory dual-exit layout, a quad-exit version (two per side) is also available.

Number of Tips Impression Who This Is For
1. Dual exit Factory-equivalent For those who want to keep the factory's understated rear look. For when you want to change the sound but not the appearance
2. Quad-exit Sporty For those who want to clearly change the rear look. It gives an impression closer to a higher-grade M model

The mid-pipe and silencer are shared. The only difference is the tip configuration; both are the same price.

Straight × Valved

The mid-pipe of the TODOROKI™ VALVE RS isStraight-through construction. No resonators, no bends: gas leaving the catalytic converter goes straight to the centre silencer. It is the most rational layout there is — no unnecessary resistance anywhere in the path.

If pure exhaust efficiency is your only goal, this is the most rational configuration. That said, straight construction has a clear drawback: with no silencing element, the volume stays the same at all timespoint. The volume doesn't change whether you're driving through a residential area or starting the car early in the morning.

The valved exhaust is what solves this.

  • Valve closed: A quiet path that runs through the centre exhaust. Volume drops to near-factory levels, so it won't be an issue when driving in residential areas or starting the car early in the morning
  • Valve open: The straight path opens up, maximising exhaust efficiency

Exhaust efficiency and quietness are normally a trade-off, but a design that switches the flow path itself lets you have both.Releasing the exhaust efficiency gained from the straight construction only when needed. Because the design has no silencing structure, the swing between valve open and closed is more pronounced.

You can choose the valve control method

This productElectronically controlled valve (remote-operated) as standard. If you'd like it changed to link with the factory valve, please contact us before purchase.

Method Operation Who This Is For
Electronically controlled valveStandard Included Remote For those who want to control volume at any time, independent of the drive mode. This operates independently on the exhaust side
Factory valve-linked Drive Mode Opens only when SPORT or SPORT+ is selected, for those who want factory-equivalent behaviour. No extra operation required

Whichever method you choose,Please be sure to let us know at the time of purchase. Specifications are locked in during production, so changes cannot be made afterward.

How the Sound Changes
  • Straight Mid-pipe: no resonators, no bends, no resistance. Gas velocity is carried through to the centre silencer intact, so the system is far less likely to choke high in the rev range
  • Centre exhaust: A single silencer is positioned at the centre of the car. With the valve closed, exhaust routes through it for sound suppression; when open, it's bypassed
  • Electronically controlled valve: switches the exhaust path just before the silencer. Closed, gas runs the quiet route through the silencer; open, it takes the straight path — so volume and character change together
  • Choice of Number of Tips: Both dual-exit and quad-exit versions are available. The mid-pipe and silencer are shared; only the tip configuration differs
  • Cat-back Structure: The factory catalytic converter is left in place, replacing only the section downstream of it. As it uses the factory hanger positions, no modification to the vehicle is required
Design based on 3D scanning

Exhaust fitment precision is determined by the actual car, not by drawings. TODOROKI™'s unit for the F30 / F31 / F34,Designed from 3D scan data of an actual car's underbody. Factory hanger positions, floor geometry and clearance to the rear bumper aperture are all pinned down from measured values, so it fits without modifying the car.

Welding isFully TIG-welded at high temperature. The base material is SUS304 stainless steel at a full 1.5mm wall thickness. An exhaust takes heat and vibration continuously, so the quality of every joint is the durability of the system.

Paired with the N55 / B58

Both the N55 and B58 are single-turbo engines. Because exhaust from all 6 cylinders passes through a single turbine before flowing downstream,Exhaust exits after being consolidated into a single pipe. How it flows from that point on becomes the character of the sound. This is where a straight-through structure pays off.

A straight-six also fires at even intervals, so first- and second-order vibrations cancel each other naturally. Being able to raise sound pressure without touching that smoothness is the single biggest reason to pair a free-flowing exhaust with a straight-six.Even within the same F30 chassis family, the character of the sound differs from the 2.0L 4-cylinder. Because the 335i / 340i has the smoothness of an straight-six, the effect of changing the exhaust really shows.

The Thinking Behind TODOROKI™ RS

RS is a grade designed around one standard: no compromise on price, quality, or sound. The silencer body features the TODOROKI™ logo. If we are going to put our name on it, it goes on every product regardless of price point. Costs that contribute nothing to performance or sound are not carried; that money goes into material, construction and the price.

Focusing exclusively on BMW lets us share jigs and validation processes across products, and reading demand chassis by chassis removes the losses that come with small-batch production. Optimising every stage — administration, manufacturing and shipping — is what makes this price possible.

About Made-to-Order Production

TODOROKI™ is made to order, one car's worth at a time, in partnership with our production facility. Fabrication begins once your order is confirmed, and BIMMER+ selects and inspects every specification before dispatch.

Reference recording. Samples may use another model with the same engine family, exhaust grade and material. The exhaust note varies with the vehicle, pipe configuration, recording conditions and playback equipment. This sample is for the B58 340i; it is not a recording of the N55 335i.

Fitment

BMW 335i / 340i F30 / F31 / F34 (N55 / B58)Purpose-built design. Also fits the F34 (3 Series Gran Turismo).

For 3.0-litre straight-six models only. It does not fit 2.0-litre four-cylinder cars (N20 / N26 / B48) such as the 320i, 328i or 330i, so please take note.

BIMMER+ organises its collections by chassis code. Search from your own chassis and only the parts that fit will appear. Model year, trim and prior modifications may mean some adjustment is needed at fitting, so please ask before you buy if anything is unclear.

Pricing and Shipping

The listed priceShipping, customs duties, and customs clearance fees are all included. There are no additional costs after the product arrives.

Exhausts are bulky and heavy, and shipping alone runs to around ¥20,000. Some sellers bill freight and domestic forwarding separately from the product price; BIMMER+ quotes one all-inclusive figure.

After Your Purchase

After your purchase, be sure to"Vehicle model / year / VIN" via our contact form. Even if you do not want any customisation, please still get in touch so we can identify your car.

About Installation

Removing and fitting an exhaust requires specialist tools and a lift. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified workshop or specialist. Wiring for the valve controller is also involved, so if you are not confident about fitting it yourself, please use a professional.

On cars with a factory valve, removing it may trigger a warning light. If that happens, a canceller or similar solution will be required.

About Lead Time

As these are built to order, shipping after order confirmation typically takes2–4 weeks. Customisation, production and logistics can push this beyond the stated period. If you are working to a deadline, talk to us before ordering.
