TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM Made-to-Order Full Titanium Valved Exhaust|BMW M140i F20 / F21 (B58)
The B58 is a 3.0L inline-6 single-turbo engine.A 3.0-litre straight-six mounted longitudinally, packed into the most compact body in the range — the 1 Series is the M140i. No 1 Series will be built to this recipe again. The factory exhaust, though, is designed to deliberately suppress sound pressure through its silencers. Set against what the car itself is, only the exhaust note holds back. That first sense of something missing in an M140i comes from exactly this.
The TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM replaces everything downstream of the catalytic converter withTitanium alloyA quad-exit cat-back replacing it with the above.1.2 mm wall thicknesscombined with titanium's lower density, significantly reduces weight at the rear of the car.5 titanium finishes for the body, 8 tip optionsCan be selected from.
This productMade to orderThis is made to order. Once your order is confirmed, we build one unit exactly to your chosen specification.
The items you'll select areTitanium Finish (Body Colour)andTipare the two key points.
| Options | Recommended | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Titanium Finish | One colour of your choice | The colour of the body. This is the only item you should choose based on personal preference |
| Tip | 8. Same colour as the body | Finished in the same titanium finish as the body.Colour selection is a one-time choice |
If you'd like a different finish for the tips only, you can choose from 7 options including carbon and black chrome.
- Weight reduction: titanium has roughly half the density of stainless. At the same wall thickness that means a substantial weight saving, and taking mass out of the rear of the car helps it turn in
- Sound quality: titanium is less dense, and sound decays through it differently than through stainless. The high frequencies come through clearly and the note turns dry and metallic — that is the signature of titanium pipework
- Heat and Corrosion Resistance: It loses little strength at high temperatures and resists corrosion well, making it a material well suited to the exhaust environment
- Heat Tint: Heat forms an oxide layer on the surface, developing a gradient from blue to purple — a material whose character changes the more you use it
Titanium's colour is not paint.Anodising forms an oxide layer on the surface, and the thickness of that layer creates colour through light interference. The colour isn't a coating applied on top — the titanium itself is producing the colour. That's whyUnlike a paint coating, it won't peel, and it won't discolour from exhaust heat.
| Colour | Finish |
|---|---|
| 1. Natural | Untreated titanium. A subdued grey that develops heat-tint colouring the more it's used |
| 2. Polished | A mirror-polished finish. It reflects light strongly, giving a whiter lustre distinct from stainless steel. |
| 3. Gold | The colour produced in the thinnest-film area. A gold that isn't too flashy, pairing well with carbon fibre |
| 4. Purple | The colour that most conveys the character of titanium. It shifts from blue-purple to red-purple depending on the angle. |
| 5. Blue | Deep blue. A colour familiar from racing parts that suits any body colour |
The titanium finish isColour of the Exhaust Body (Titanium Pipe). Tips are chosen separately, from 8 options.Choosing "8. Same colour as the body" for the tip lets you unify the whole system in the same titanium finish,, and choosing a different finish lets you change the look of just the tip.All 5 titanium finishes are available at no extra cost.
What most often leads to regret with an exhaust swap isDrone during high-speed cruising. At certain engine speeds, low frequencies resonate inside the cabin and make conversation or music hard to follow — and the more a system prioritises flow, the more likely it is to happen.
This productThe centre silencer's volume and internal structure suppress this frequency band. Cruising at speed with the valve closed, drone is almost absent. This is a full-titanium system built for flow that has not given up everyday comfort to get there.
The mid-pipe on the TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM isStraight-through construction. No resonators, no bends: gas leaving the catalytic converter goes straight to the silencer. It is the most rational layout there is — no unnecessary resistance anywhere in the path.
If pure exhaust efficiency is your only goal, this is the most rational configuration.however, since the mid-pipe has no sound-damping element, the volume stays constant at all timesis a weakness here — whether driving through a residential neighbourhood or starting the engine early in the morning, the volume never changes.
The valved exhaust is what solves this.
- Valve closed: A quiet path that runs through the centre exhaust. Volume drops to near-factory levels, so it won't be an issue when driving in residential areas or starting the car early in the morning
- Valve open: The straight path opens up, maximising exhaust efficiency
Exhaust efficiency and quietness are normally a trade-off, but a design that switches the flow path itself lets you have both.Releasing the exhaust efficiency gained from the straight construction only when needed. Precisely because there is no silencing structure in the mid-pipe, the swing between valve closed and valve open is wide. The clear high end of titanium pipework sharpens that open-valve impression further still.
This productElectronically controlled valve (remote-operated) as standard. If you'd like it changed to link with the factory valve, please contact us before purchase.
| Method | Operation | Who This Is For |
|---|---|---|
| Electronically controlled valveStandard | Included Remote | For those who want to control volume at any time, independent of the drive mode. This operates independently on the exhaust side |
| Factory valve-linked | Drive Mode | Opens only when SPORT or SPORT+ is selected, for those who want factory-equivalent behaviour. No extra operation required |
Whichever method you choose,Please be sure to let us know at the time of purchase. Specifications are locked in during production, so changes cannot be made afterward.
- Straight Mid-pipe: no resonators, no bends, no resistance. Gas velocity is carried through to the silencer intact, so the system is far less likely to choke high in the rev range
- Silencer Internal Structure: packed with heat-resistant stainless wool and sound-absorbing fibre. Compared with ordinary glass wool it degrades far less under heat, so silencing performance holds up over the long term. The quiet you get with the valve closed rests on this internal structure
- Centre exhaust: A single silencer is positioned at the centre of the car. With the valve closed, exhaust routes through it for sound suppression; when open, it's bypassed
- Electronically controlled valve: switches the exhaust path just before the silencer. Closed, gas runs the quiet route through the silencer; open, it takes the straight path — so volume and character change together
- Quad-exit: Exhaust exits through four tips, two on each side. This configuration secures exhaust efficiency while achieving an appearance befitting an M model
- Cat-back Structure: The factory catalytic converter is left in place, replacing only the section downstream of it. As it uses the factory hanger positions, no modification to the vehicle is required
Exhaust fitment precision is determined by the actual car, not by drawings. TODOROKI™'s unit for the M140i,Designed from 3D scan data of an actual car's underbody. Factory hanger positions, floor geometry and clearance to the rear bumper aperture are all pinned down from measured values, so it fits without modifying the car.
Welding isFully TIG-welded at high temperature. Titanium oxidises readily when welded, so workmanship matters even more than it does with stainless. An exhaust takes heat and vibration continuously, and the quality of every joint is the durability of the system.
The B58 is a single-turbo engine. Exhaust from all six cylinders passes through one turbine before flowing downstream, soExhaust exits after being consolidated into a single pipeHow the exhaust is handled from that point onward directly shapes the character of the sound.
A straight-six also fires at even intervals, so first- and second-order vibrations cancel each other naturally. Being able to raise sound pressure without touching that smoothness is the single biggest reason to pair a free-flowing exhaust with a straight-six.On the lighter M140i, the weight-saving effect of going full titanium also shows up relatively more.
| Grade | Price | What's Included, and Who It's For |
|---|---|---|
| TODOROKI™ VALVE RS | ¥239,800 | Made from SUS304 stainless steel, quad-exit. A structure that splits the mid-pipe forward. Choose from 7 tip finishes |

VALVE RS and TITANIUMShares the same valve mechanism and vehicle fitment. The mid-pipe routing is optimised for each material, so the configuration differs. If the weight saving, the change in note and the way the heat colouring develops over time are what you value, look at TITANIUM. STRAIGHT differs in the number of tips, so choose it on the basis of how you want the car to look.
TITANIUM is the grade that commits entirely to changing sound and weight through material. Construction, valve and fitment are identical to RS; the only difference is the base metal. That alone changes the quality of the note and the mass over the rear axle. The silencer body features the TODOROKI™ logo. If we are going to put our name on it, it goes on every product regardless of price point. Costs that contribute nothing to performance or sound are not carried; that money goes into material, construction and the price.
Focusing exclusively on BMW lets us share jigs and validation processes across products, and reading demand chassis by chassis removes the losses that come with small-batch production. Optimising every stage — administration, manufacturing and shipping — is what makes this price possible.
TODOROKI™ is made to order, one car's worth at a time, in partnership with our production facility. Fabrication begins once your order is confirmed, and BIMMER+ selects and inspects every specification before dispatch.

BMW M140i F20 / F21 (B58)Purpose-built design.
Dedicated to the 3.0L straight-six M140i. Does not fit 2.0L-and-under models such as the 118i / 120i / 125i, so please take note.
BIMMER+ organises its collections by chassis code. Search from your own chassis and only the parts that fit will appear. Model year, trim and prior modifications may mean some adjustment is needed at fitting, so please ask before you buy if anything is unclear.
The listed priceShipping, customs duties, and customs clearance fees are all included. There are no additional costs after the product arrives.
Exhausts are bulky and heavy, and shipping alone runs to around ¥20,000. Some sellers bill freight and domestic forwarding separately from the product price; BIMMER+ quotes one all-inclusive figure.
After your purchase, be sure to"Vehicle model / year / VIN" via our contact form. Even if you do not want any customisation, please still get in touch so we can identify your car.
Removing and fitting an exhaust requires specialist tools and a lift. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified workshop or specialist. Wiring for the valve controller is also involved, so if you are not confident about fitting it yourself, please use a professional.
On cars with a factory valve, removing it may trigger a warning light. If that happens, a canceller or similar solution will be required.
As these are built to order, shipping after order confirmation typically takes2–4 weeks. Customisation, production and logistics can push this beyond the stated period. If you are working to a deadline, talk to us before ordering.
- Depending on the vehicle's condition, year, and modification history, additional adjustment may be required at installation.
- Weld discolouration and finish may vary slightly between units.
- Exhaust parts are wear items. Please carry out regular checks for exhaust leaks and insulate wiring as needed.
