HYFLOW™ Catless Downpipe BMW M135i / M2 / M235i / 335i / 435i (F-Chassis) (N55)
The N55 is a 3.0-litre single-turbo straight-six. The factory downpipe has a catalytic converter built in, and while it cleans the exhaust gases, the part that narrows the exhaust path the mostThis is also true here. Positioned right after the turbo, resistance at this point directly affects how boost builds.
The HYFLOW™ catless downpipe removes the catalytic converter from this section, andA path that runs straight downstream from the turbine outlet. This creates that gap — as back-pressure drops, the turbo begins spinning up more readily, shortening the time between pressing the throttle and boost arriving.
This productA configuration without a catalytic converter. Please refer to "About Regulations" for the conditions of use.
Exhaust flows in the order turbo → downpipe → mid-pipe → silencer. Of these,The downpipe sits immediately after the turbois located here, and exhaust passes through at its highest temperature and pressure at this point.
- Reduced back pressure: pressure downstream of the turbine drops. Since the turbine spins on the momentum of the exhaust gas, the lighter the load on the outlet side, the faster it spools up
- Boost response: Turbo lag — the time between pressing the accelerator and boost coming on — is shortened. What you feel is less about peak output and more aboutSharper mid-range acceleration
- Exhaust note: the factory downpipe also contributes to silencing, so replacing it changes both volume and character. The low end gains body, and high in the rev range you get a metallic edge that carries
While an exhaust swap changes the "sound at the exit," a downpipeChanging the flow itself from the point closest to the engineis the component. Combine the two, and each moves into territory that neither reaches on its own.
Replacing the downpipe improves exhaust flow, butThis alone does not produce a major increase in output. This is because the factory ECU controls boost pressure and ignition timing on the assumption of a factory exhaust, so changing only the hardware doesn't let the control system keep up.
Where the downpipe really shows its worth isWhen combined with ECU tuning. Improved flow lets boost pressure be raised to match, and only then does it show up as a measurable gain in output.
A downpipe on its own changes both how quickly boost builds and how the car sounds. The honest way to put it: you will feel a difference, but output depends on the tune.
This productAs it has no catalytic converter, it does not comply with Japan's vehicle safety regulationsThis does not meet the emissions standards required for road use, and will not pass Japan's shaken inspection.
A product limited to circuit driving and competition useis offered as such. Please refrain from using it on public roads. Confirm the intended use before deciding.
The N55 is fitted with a twin-scroll single turbo. Because all the exhaust gathers into a single turbine,Resistance downstream directly affects turbo spin. A configuration where the effect of the downpipe is easy to feel.
- Configuration: Catless downpipe

Removing and installing the downpipe requires a lift and specialised tools. As it sits in a high-heat area right after the turbo,We strongly recommend installation at a garage or professional shopwe will do so.
By removing the catalytic converter,The O2 sensor detects an abnormality and the warning light comes on. An O2 sensor adapter or a change of control strategy through ECU tuning will be required. Discuss this with your fitting workshop in advance.
From the day of deliveryOne yeardefects caused by the product itself (welding faults, material faults, dimensional faults) will be replaced free of charge.Shipping costs for both the return and the replacement are covered by uswe will do so.
- Damage caused by installation work, normal wear from driving, and issues arising from combination with other manufacturers' products are not covered by the warranty.
- When making a claim, please send us your VIN and photos of the affected area.
