Product Overview

The B58 is a 3.0-litre single-turbo straight-six — BMW's current mainstay engine, fitted to the M240i, M340i and M440i. It makes thick torque from low revs and spins cleanly all the way to the top. The factory exhaust, though, is designed to deliberately suppress sound pressure through its silencers. The engine has the character, but the exhaust note alone falls shortThe initial sense of something lacking that you notice with an M Performance model stems from this point.

TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM takes the same straight-through quad-exit cat-back as VALVE RS and builds it Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). The alloy used for aircraft structures: a substantial weight saving over stainless, with the high-frequency character that only titanium delivers.5 titanium finishes for the body, 8 tip optionsCan be selected from.

Recommended configuration

The items you'll select areTitanium Finish (Body Colour)andTipare the two key points.

Options Recommended Reason
Titanium Finish One colour of your choice The colour of the body. This is the only item you should choose based on personal preference
Tip 8. Same colour as the body Finished in the same titanium finish as the body.Colour selection is a one-time choice

If you'd like a different finish for the tips only, you can choose from 7 options including carbon and black chrome.

Being made from Grade 5 titanium
  • Ti-6Al-4V (6-4 titanium): a titanium alloy with 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium. Stronger than pure titanium, and the grade used for aircraft structures and racing components. It is a different base material from anything simply labelled "titanium"
  • Weight reduction: titanium has roughly half the density of stainless. At the same wall thickness that means a substantial weight saving, and taking mass out of the rear of the car helps it turn in
  • Sound quality: titanium is less dense, and sound decays through it differently than through stainless. The high frequencies come through clearly and the note turns dry and metallic — that is the signature of titanium pipework
  • Heat and Corrosion Resistance: It loses little strength at high temperatures and resists corrosion well, making it a material well suited to the exhaust environment
  • Heat Tint: Heat forms an oxide layer on the surface, developing a gradient from blue to purple — a material whose character changes the more you use it
Titanium Finish: 5 Colours

Titanium's colour is not paint.Anodising forms an oxide layer on the surface, and the thickness of that layer creates colour through light interference. The colour isn't a coating applied on top — the titanium itself is producing the colour. That's whyUnlike a paint coating, it won't peel, and it won't discolour from exhaust heat.

Colour Finish
1. Natural Untreated titanium. A subdued grey that develops heat-tint colouring the more it's used
2. Polished A mirror-polished finish. It reflects light strongly, giving a whiter lustre distinct from stainless steel.
3. Gold The colour produced in the thinnest-film area. A gold that isn't too flashy, pairing well with carbon fibre
4. Purple The colour that most conveys the character of titanium. It shifts from blue-purple to red-purple depending on the angle.
5. Blue Deep blue. A colour familiar from racing parts that suits any body colour

The titanium finish isColour of the Exhaust Body (Titanium Pipe). Tips are chosen separately, from 8 options.Choosing "8. Same colour as the body" for the tip lets you unify the whole system in the same titanium finish,, and choosing a different finish lets you change the look of just the tip.All 5 titanium finishes are available at no extra cost.

Straight × Valved

The mid-pipe on the TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM isStraight-through construction. With no resonator and no bends, it sends the exhaust straight from the catalytic converter to the centre silencer. The main pipe isØ89mm (3.5 in). The secondary pipe design differs by model,The M340i / M440i use Ø76mm (3 in.), and the M240i uses Ø70mm (2.75 in.). A pipe that is too large for the displacement slows flow velocity, so the optimal diameter is selected for each model.

If pure exhaust efficiency is your only goal, this is the most rational configuration. That said, straight construction has a clear drawback: with no silencing element, the volume stays the same at all timespoint. The volume doesn't change whether you're driving through a residential area or starting the car early in the morning.

The valved exhaust is what solves this.

  • Valve closed: A quiet path that runs through the centre exhaust. Volume drops to near-factory levels, so it won't be an issue when driving in residential areas or starting the car early in the morning
  • Valve open: The straight-through path opens, releasing flow to its maximum

"Free-flowing exhaust" and "a quiet-running car" are normally a trade-off, but if the path itself can be switched, both can be achieved.Releasing the exhaust efficiency gained from the straight construction only when needed. Because the design has no silencing structure, the swing between valve open and closed is more pronounced.

You can choose the valve control method

This productSupports two methods: electronically controlled valve, or linkage with the factory valve. Please specify this at the time of order.

Method Operation Who This Is For
Electronically controlled valveStandard Included Remote For those who want to switch volume at any time, independent of drive mode. Controlled independently at the exhaust itself
Factory valve-linked Drive Mode For those who want factory-identical behaviour, opening only when SPORT / SPORT+ is selected. No extra operation required

If you want it linked to the factory valve,Please be sure to let us know at the time of purchase. Specifications are locked in during production, so changes cannot be made afterward.

How the Sound Changes
  • Straight Mid-pipe: no resonators, no bends, no resistance. Gas velocity reaches the centre silencer undiminished, so the system is far less likely to choke high in the rev range
  • Centre exhaust: A single silencer is positioned at the centre of the car. With the valve closed, exhaust passes through it for silencing; when open, it's bypassed
  • Electronically controlled valve: switches the exhaust path just before the silencer. Closed, gas runs the quiet route through the silencer; open, it takes the straight path — so volume and character change together
  • Quad-exit: Exhaust exits through four tips, two per side. This configuration secures flow while delivering the rear-end look expected of M Performance
  • Cat-back Structure: The factory catalytic converter is left in place, replacing only the section downstream of it. As it uses the factory hanger positions, no modification to the vehicle is required
Mandrel-bent construction

An exhaust pipe's performance is determined less by its straight sections than byis determined at the bendsWith ordinary bending, the inside of the pipe collapses, reducing the cross-sectional area at that point. Exhaust slows down there, creating resistance.

TODOROKI™ uses, across its entire length,Mandrel bends. We use mandrel bending — because the pipe is bent with a mandrel run through the inside,The cross-section stays perfectly round even at the bends. The exhaust efficiency gained from equal-length design and straight construction only comes together because of this process.

Welding isFully TIG-welded at high temperature. Joints are welded from both inside and out. An exhaust takes heat and vibration continuously, so the quality of every joint is the durability of the system.

Combination with the B58

The B58 runs a single turbo. Unlike the S58, which splits the cylinders between two, all six cylinders' worth of gas passes through one turbine before heading downstream.Because the exhaust comes together into a single stream, how it flows from that point on essentially determines the character of the soundThis is exactly where a straight structure pays off.

A straight-six also fires at even intervals, so first- and second-order vibrations cancel each other naturally. Raising sound pressure without disturbing that smoothness is the single biggest reason to pair a free-flowing exhaust with a straight-six. The B58 keeps its low-end torque and gains at the top.

How to choose a grade
Grade Price What's Included, and Who It's For
TODOROKI™ VALVE RS ¥219,800 Made from SUS304 stainless steel. Choose from 7 tip finishes
TODOROKI™ VALVE RS TITANIUM ¥319,800 This product. Same construction, in Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V). Lighter, with the high-frequency edge that only titanium gives. Five titanium finishes available

The structure, valve, and fitment are identical between the two.The only difference is the materialIf you value weight reduction, the change in sound quality, and the texture of heat-tint developing over time, consider the TITANIUM.

The Thinking Behind TODOROKI™ TITANIUM

TITANIUM is the grade that commits entirely to changing sound and weight through material. Construction, valve and fitment are the same as RS; the only difference is the base metal. That alone changes the quality of the note and the mass over the rear axle. The silencer body features the TODOROKI™ logo. If we are going to carry a name, it goes on every single system regardless of price point. Costs unrelated to how the car drives or sounds are not loaded on; that money goes into material, construction and the price.

Focusing exclusively on BMW lets us share jigs and validation processes, and reading which chassis actually sell removes the waste of small-batch production. Tightening every stage — administration, manufacturing and shipping — is what makes this price possible.

About Installation

Removing and fitting an exhaust requires specialist tools and a lift. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified workshop or specialist. Wiring for the valve controller is also involved, so if you are not confident about fitting it yourself, please use a professional.

On cars with a factory valve, removing it may trigger a warning light. If that happens, a canceller or similar solution will be required.

About Lead Time

As these are built to order, shipping after order confirmation typically takes2–4 weeks. Customisation, production and logistics can push this beyond the stated period. If you are working to a deadline, talk to us before ordering.
