TODOROKI™ VALVE S Made-to-Order Valved Exhaust|BMW 116i F20 (N13)
The F20The last rear-wheel-drive 1 Series. With the following F40 generation moving to front-wheel drive, the compact rear-drive hatch ended with this car. The engine fitted to the 116i N13 is a 1.6-litre turbocharged four. Small in capacity, but a genuinely well-engineered unit with a twin-scroll turbo and Valvetronic.
The factory exhaust, meanwhile, in relation to this character,Almost no sound is being shaped. Partly to differentiate it from higher grades, the 116i's exhaust note is kept to the bare minimum.
TODOROKI™ VALVE S is a cat-back system that replaces everything downstream of the catalytic converter.Equipped with an electronically controlled valve, letting you switch the volumeThis is the model that offers a valve option even in the entry-grade 1 Series.
This productMade to orderThis is made to order. Once your order is confirmed, we build one unit exactly to your chosen specification.
Valved exhausts have mostly been offered for M models and higher grades. For 1.6-litre models like the 116i, the range of options itself is limited.
However, the reason you'd want to switch volume has nothing to do with displacement.Early-morning starts, driving through residential areas, late-night drives home. The more you use the car day to day, the more value there is in being able to lower the volume.
- Valve closed: A quiet path routed through the silencer. With volume kept down, it's no issue driving through residential areas or starting up early in the morning
- Valve open: The path opens up, maximising exhaust efficiency and volume
Exhaust efficiency and quietness are normally a trade-off, but a design that switches the flow path itself lets you have both.Only makes noise when you actually want to drive. That's the reason for fitting a valve.
The smaller an engine's displacement, the moreResistance in the exhaust system translates directly into how the car feelsThis is because the ratio of path resistance to total displacement becomes relatively larger.
Despite being 1.6L, the N13 has a twin-scroll turbo and builds boost from low revs.the path receiving this boost pressure remains factory— this state doesn't make the most of the engine's true potential. Replacing everything after the catalytic converter changes this path.
- Electronically controlled valve: switches the exhaust path just before the silencer. Closed, gas runs the quiet route through the silencer; open, it takes the free path — so volume and character change together
- Cat-back Structure: Keeps the factory catalytic converter in place and replaces only what comes after it. Since it uses the factory mounting position, no modification to the car body is required
- Purpose-designed silencer and tip: Shaped to match the rear end of the 116i
The base material is SUS304 stainless steel, 1.5 mm wall thickness. The welding isHigh-temperature TIG Welding, and100% Inspection Before ShippingThis is carried out. The surface isFrosted (matte) finishgiving a subdued texture that doesn't reflect light strongly.
Installation isUses the factory mounting points as-is. No modification or welding to the car is required. The logo is applied by laser engraving.
Two grades are available for the 116i / 118i F20, F21 (N13).With or without a valved exhaustplease choose accordingly.
| Grade | Price | What's Included, and Who It's For |
|---|---|---|
| TODOROKI™ SINGLE | ¥149,800 | No valve, 70mm straight, single exit. A configuration with no moving parts, for those who want to drive with the same sound at all times.Compatible with both 116i and 118i |
| TODOROKI™ VALVE S | ¥159,800 | This product. Fitted with an electronically controlled valve. For those who want to switch volume depending on the situation.116i-specific |
The price difference is ¥10,000.We recommend this product for those who often drive in residential areas or start the car early in the morning. Closing the valve keeps the volume down, widening the range of situations you can use it in.
VALVE S fits a valve as standard and holds the price down by narrowing the range of specifications. Every option you add complicates the build process and the inventory behind it, and that comes back in the price.By narrowing the configuration, we've brought the valved exhaust mechanism itself down to an accessible price.
The silencer body features the TODOROKI™ logo. If we are going to put our name on it, it goes on every product regardless of price point. Focusing exclusively on BMW lets us share jigs and validation processes, and reading demand chassis by chassis removes the losses that come with small-batch production.
TODOROKI™ is made to order, one car's worth at a time, in partnership with our production facility. Fabrication begins once your order is confirmed, and BIMMER+ selects and inspects every specification before dispatch.

⚠️ Does not fit post-LCI cars fitted with the B38 (1.5L inline-three).Even within the same 116i, the exhaust system layout differs depending on the engine fitted. Please confirm your engine code before purchasingIf you're unsure, let us know your VIN and we'll check for you.
If you drive the 118i, consider the TODOROKI™ SINGLE (¥149,800).
BIMMER+ organises its collections by chassis code. Search from your own chassis and only the parts that fit will appear. Model year, trim and prior modifications may mean some adjustment is needed at fitting, so please ask before you buy if anything is unclear.
The listed priceShipping, customs duties, and customs clearance fees are all included. There are no additional costs after the product arrives.
Exhausts are bulky and heavy, and shipping alone runs to around ¥20,000. Some sellers bill freight and domestic forwarding separately from the product price; BIMMER+ quotes one all-inclusive figure.
After your purchase, be sure to"Vehicle model / year / VIN" via our contact form. Even if you do not want any customisation, please still get in touch so we can identify your car.
Removing and fitting an exhaust requires specialist tools and a lift. We strongly recommend installation by a qualified workshop or specialist. Work relating to the valve control is also involved, so if you are not confident about fitting it yourself, please use a professional.
As these are built to order, shipping after order confirmation typically takes2–4 weeks. Customisation, production and logistics can push this beyond the stated period. If you are working to a deadline, talk to us before ordering.
- Depending on the vehicle's condition, year, and modification history, additional adjustment may be required at installation.
- Weld discolouration and finish may vary slightly between units.
- Exhaust parts are wear items. Please carry out regular checks for exhaust leaks and insulate wiring as needed.
